What is the roof installation process?

Big Lick Roofing installs all new roofs to manufacturer specifications. Most roof replacements take less than 1 day depending on the size and type of roof our crew is working with. Check out the process below! 

Step 1 - The crew arrives on the scheduled time and begins prepping your home and landscaping for the old roof removal. 
Step 2 - We remove your old shingles, nails, and other existing roofing materials. 
Step 3 - The Big Lick Roofing crew performs a roof deck inspection to search for rotted/damaged wood. 
Step 4 - Drip Edge is installed at the eaves of your roof. 
Step 5 - Ice & Water shield is installed in all valleys of the roof, roof penetrations, low slopes, and eaves. 
Step 5 - 30lb Synthetic Felt underlayment is installed on the entire roof deck. 
Step 6 - Drip Edge is installed on the rakes of the roof for more added protection. 
Step 7 - The new shingles are installed to manufacturers specifications along with any additional vents, pipe boots, & flashings. 
Step 8 - A ridge vent is cut in on all ridges of the roof. 
Step 9 - Ridge Cap is installed over the new ridge vent along with any hip cap if applicable. 
Step 10 - The Big Lick Roofing crew cleans up and leaves you to enjoy your new roof.
